Merry Christmas and welcome to Christmas Cards For Kindness. My name is Crystal and I love making greeting cards. What I love even more than making them is knowing that they put a smile on someone's face when they open one of my cards.

So this Christmas season I'm doing something a little special with a few of my cards. My idea is to make one special card for each day in December and send it out to a very deserving person. So here's where you come in...do you know of a special person who deserves one of my cards? Are they sick and need cheering up? Maybe someone you know has gone above & beyond for their community? Have they helped a child in need? Are they a hero in your eyes? If so, send me an email telling me why this person deserves a Christmas Card For Kindness this holiday season. And remember, it doesn't matter how big or small, how old or young or how rich or poor they are...everyone deserves to be recognized for how special they are.

In your email please include your name, city, state/province & email address along with the name & mailing address of the person you are nominating. Photos are also greatly appreciated! Email your nomination to: christmascardsforkindness@gmail.com anytime during the months of November & December 2008. If your letter is chosen, I will contact you immediately and your letter will be published on this site for everyone to read.

Thank you for visiting and I look forward to reading about the people who have left footprints on your heart. And be sure to check back each and every day in December to see who will be receiving a Christmas Card For Kindness.

I also encourage each and every one of you to participate in your own random act of kindness this holiday season. The ideas are endless and so are the smiles.

~Crystal

Let's see how fast we can spread some kindness around the world by passing this site along to everyone you know!

The Kindness Store

Along with Christmas Cards For Kindness, I have also decided to raise some money for one or two charitable organizations by opening The Kindness Store. In this store you can purchase a variety of items at great prices and all proceeds from the sale of these items will go directly to charity.

At this time I have not chosen a charity(s) and am taking suggestions. Please email them to christmascardsforkindness@gmail.com and I will post my decision when I make one.

So stop by The Kindness Store by clicking on the link on the sidebar or here at http://www.cafepress.com/ccfk.

December 1 CCFK Winner!

The person that I would like to nominate is Mrs Sharon Symes from Paradise Valley Alberta. Sharon has been working at the Treasury Branch for many, many years in our Village. She absolutly loves her job and the interaction that she has with her customers. She has often said that if she won the lottery she would not quit her job, as it is the reason she gets out of bed in the morning. She does not plan on retiring for many years yet.Even with her own battles with cancer over the years, she was in her office, often resting on a cot that she kept in the back. That is dedication to your work! I have seen Sharon outside in the winter putting new registartion tags on the vehicles of her elderly customers. And she treats all the youth in town as if they are one of her own. She has pictures of all the local kids inside her office. She keeps track of their accounts. Often when the kids grow up and move off on their own, they are shocked that the other bankers do not take care of them like Sharon does. "What do you mean I need to know my account number? Sharon knows it" Sharon is also very active in community fundraising for very worthy causes. Year after year her small Treasury Branch Agency is the top fundraiser for the Childrens Stollery Hospital in Edmonton. She devotes hours of her own time to planning special steak suppers or fundraising lunches to raise money for the Stollery.Sharon also headed up the Paradise Valley Beautification Group, as a way to make our Village prettier. She spends hours and hours in her greenhouse growing and planting flowers to be hung around town. Sharons other passions in life are her greenhouses, sewing and her 5 granddaughters. I sincerely hope Sharon knows how loved she is within our community. WE LOVE YOU SHARON!
